At Pie, we are thankful and believe in giving back. We believe community involvement is the backbone of a healthy community. In commitment to one of our core values, our staff volunteer and support a number of charitable causes. We offer all our employees Charitable Time Off to support charitable causes and non-profits that are near and dear to our employees. In addition to time volunteered individually, Pie has raised well over $155,000 and donated over 1,000 hours of time. Here are a few of our company sponsored programs.
Anchor Center for Blind Children is the only privately funded organization in Colorado whose goal is to provide blind children with the early education they need to be successful. Born from our belief in education and our strong love of children, Cherrity Pie Festival was created. Since its inception in 2011, we have organized this fund-raiser and we are proud to say it has evolved into an anticipated annual event. From humble beginnings, the festival now includes 35 co-sponsoring businesses, a beer garden, later hours, food trucks, and live music. Today Anchor Center serves more than 400 children each year and Pie has raised over $130,000 to date.
Pie believes that true charity lies in making human connections and directly having an impact on those less fortunate. For the second year in a row, Pie employees in three states have donated over 200 hours, and handed out 2,000 sandwiches to various shelters and organizations. Our employees have directly connected with those in a meaningful way and it’s made an impact not only in our community, but in ourselves. Our staff has fed the homeless at Denver’s Samaritan House, Minneapolis Union Gospel Mission and the Stewpot in Dallas.
