Biography


Eric Hand recently joined Pie as a Department Manager of Forensic Sciences. Eric’s technical expertise includes forensic investigation, historic preservation, construction administration services, expert witness support, and building envelope design. His focus at Pie is on the assessment, repair design, and quality assurance for existing structures. His responsibilities include staffing and resources of the forensic team while overseeing internal quality control of the repair design and drawing production and ensuring an excellent client experience.

Prior to joining Pie, Eric served as the Director of Operations of a building envelope consulting firm in Portland, Oregon that provided consulting & expert witness services for the investigation, analysis, and design of building envelope systems for both new and rehabilitation construction projects. During this time, Eric also developed expertise in alpine environments, with many projects at ski resorts and alpine cities in Oregon, Montana, and Utah.

Eric’s has extensive expertise in historic preservation from previous work at leading preservation architecture firms on both the east and west coasts. He has worked on some of the country’s most recognizable and significant historical landmarks and served as a commissioner to the Corvallis, OR historic resources board.
