Matt Blackmer joined Pie Consulting & Engineering in 2000 as a Project Manager where he provided forensic engineering and consulting services on a variety of structural and civil discipline related projects. The clients Matt has served include attorneys, insurance companies, municipalities, general contractors, and building owners.

Matt’s technical expertise is in the fields of structural and civil engineering where he currently provides analysis of civil/structural failures, new construction and rehabilitation design, third party technical peer review services, and on-site quality assurance. Matt has provided structural/civil engineering consulting services on thousands of projects across the United States. His vast forensic investigation experience includes assessment of damage caused by snow, wind, fire, flood, tornado, hurricane & expansive soils. Matt also serves as an expert witness for failure investigation claims, design/construction defect claims and construction liability claims.

In 2003, Matt became a partner in the firm. Additionally, he serves as Pie’s nationwide Vice President of Forensic Science and the Department Manager for the Colorado Forensic Group, providing leadership of the group’s operations and consulting services.
