Pie Consulting & Engineering (Pie) is seeking a personable, articulate, and highly organized individual to join our fast paced Accounting team in a full-time, accounting specialist position. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and possess outstanding organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills to provide accounting support to multiple Pie offices across the United States.

  • Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including analytical work and thorough review of financial records and source document
  • Create and run reports via Excel, providing analysis and conclusion as needed
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Billing
  • Cash Receipts
  • Approve and audit time cards for accuracy, resolving errors and discrepancies with employees and managers
  • Approve and reconcile expense reports


  • Requires minimum 3 years relevant accounting experience
  • Experience in a Professional Services/Consulting environment required
  • Project based accounting experience is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Prior experience with ERP software systems (specifically Deltek Vision) preferred
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices and standards
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Skilled in performing details and complex numerical computations and reports
  • Effective oral/written communication skills
  • Flexible, responsive and confident multi-tasker able to work independently, handle multiple deadlines and accommodate shifting priorities
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to quality, organization, meticulous attention to detail and consistency in work product
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills including ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines
