Biggest Ever Cherrity Pie Festival Raises $36,000+ for Anchor Center for Blind Children
Arvada, Colorado – October 27, 2015 – Pie Consulting & Engineering is excited to announce that the fifth annual Cherrity Pie Festival hit a new record, raising more than $36,000 for Anchor Center for Blind Children, a Denver-based nonprofit serving more than 400 children a year.
The Cherrity Pie Festival, which began in 2011, is Pie’s hallmark community fundraiser and supports early intervention center-based programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. This year’s efforts set a new record for the annual event and brings the cumulative total to more than $130,000 for Anchor Center.
“Anchor Center is a special place that provides essential early intervention and professional support and empowers kids to soar,” said Paul Duncan, president and CEO of Pie, a global forensic and building sciences engineering firm. “I couldn’t be more proud of all our sponsors, volunteers, and community support we’ve had to make this year’s Cherrity Pie Festival the biggest ever.”
This year’s event featured a silent auction and fun family activities, including pony rides, a bouncy castle, face painting, classic car show, bake-offs, face painting and a “pie” walk. About 200 attendees enjoyed the festivities, which also included a drawing for a trip to Antigua.
Our generous sponsors contributed nearly $30,000, making this year’s festival the most successful one yet. Our 2015 corporate supporters included Anadarko Petroleum Corp, Mortenson Construction, Stapleton Foundation, Ponderosa Petroleum, RE Reconstruction Experts, ASR, Harmon Inc, Lerch Bates, Fiore & Sons, Rogue Architecture, J.R. Butler, Smalley & Company, T.A.M.P.A., Fransen Pittman, Ernst Engineering, Emergenetics, Ambient Energy, Pasco, Saunders Construction, Hayes Construction Company, BluSky, Jansen Strawn, MAXX Properties, Wadell & Reed, Rogue Architecture, Grace, Palace Construction, IRG, Integrity Electrical Solutions, Benson Korrane Storz Nelson, Jansen Strawn, Sign-a-Rama, Samora, and Village Inn.
“The positive impact that the Anchor Center has made on Colorado families is apparent to anyone who walks through the doors of this magical place,” Duncan added. “I have no doubt we will see this event continue to grow with the commitment of our sponsors, our many volunteers and staff who work hard to make this event shine year after year.”
“We want to thank Pie Consulting & Engineering for continuing to support us with the annual Cherrity Pie Festival. The principals and all the employees have been so generous with their time in planning and putting on the event,” said Anchor Center’s development director Kristine Wolfe. “The funds donated by sponsors and attendees have helped Anchor Center provide services to children with vision impairments throughout the state. They have become a part of the Anchor Center family and the friendships that have been formed are near and dear to our hearts. We value the partnership and are extremely grateful for the success of this year’s event.”
