Pie Performs BECx on Colorado State University Projects
Arvada, Colorado (May 10, 2012) – Pie Consulting & Engineering (Pie) is currently providing building enclosure commissioning (BECx) and consulting services on three Colorado State University (CSU) new construction and major renovation/expansion projects in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Engineering II Building – LEED Status: Gold (targeted)
The Engineering II – College of Engineering Project is a new 122,000 square foot facility which will include interdisciplinary research laboratories, teaching laboratories, classrooms, faculty offices, and the Student Success Center. This facility will bring faculty and students together in teams to focus on energy, health, and the environment as it relates to the following engineering disciplines: biomedical, bioanalytic devices, environmental, as well as synthetic and systems biology.
Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory (EECL) Expansion/Renovation – LEED Status: Platinum (targeted)
The Engines and Energy Conversion lab project includes a 50,000 square foot addition and renovation of the existing facility. EECL is one of the nation’s largest independent laboratories and a world-leader in developing large-scale solutions to global energy dilemmas. Popular Science magazine recently listed EECL as one of the nation’s Top 25 academic laboratories. The expansion and renovation project will focus on how the lab’s environment can serve as the building’s own engine.
Lory Student Center Revitalization – LEED Status: Gold (targeted)
The existing Lory Student Center was the first CSU campus project to receive a LEED Gold rating. The work included in the revitalization project is intended to surpass a LEED Gold rating. The Lory Student Centerrevitalization project will include the renovation of 160,000 square feet of existing space and the addition of 40,000 square feet of new space. Exterior additions and renovations will provide substantial change in both the aesthetics and performance of the exterior building envelope.
