Pie Provides Expertise on State Capitol Renovations

A state capitol is a symbol of its citizens and their government, where the state’s top officials are headquartered and where the legislature meets.

It’s in these hallowed halls that Pie Consulting & Engineering (Pie) is lending its building enclosure consulting expertise and building envelope field performance testing on major renovation projects at these important state government buildings in Wyoming, Colorado and Minnesota.

These renovation projects include the Wyoming state capitol, where Pie is providing consultation on the air, water, thermal and vapor barrier systems on several capitol structures in Cheyenne. In Colorado, Pie is consulting on the state capitol’s roof assembly, which is undergoing renovation in Denver.  And at the Minnesota capitol in St. Paul, Pie is performing electronic leak detection on the roof systems to ensure the assemblies are free of breaches.

“It is a thrill to be working on such iconic structures as the seats of government of these three great states,” said Matt Heron, Pie principal and Building Science Group department manager. “As consultants and engineers, we jump at the opportunity to be a part of infrastructure that will last longer than us; to be working on three at the same time illustrates Pie’s capabilities and capacity.”

All three state capitols, including the distinctive gold-leaf dome on the Colorado capitol, are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
