Video: Pie Consulting & Engineering Monitors Another Implosion

Pie Consulting & Engineering continues to crush the competition when it comes to structure implosions.

The leading provider of building and forensic science services, recently added another implosion monitoring project to its portfolio.

This time, Pie monitored vibration and air-overpressure for the Isle of Capri casino in Blackhawk, Colorado, which is located across the street from the parking garage of Monarch Casino. The garage was razed to make room for a future 23-story hotel, casino and spa.

The parking structure’s implosion was triggered by more than 300 pounds of explosives and only took a mere few seconds to collapse, as captured in this Pie video:

Pie provided similar vibration monitoring services in late 2015 for the implosion collapse of University of Colorado Hospital’s eight-story biomedical research building in Denver.

“We are proud to be able to provide this unique service to our clients that may be impacted by large-scale implosions,” said Tyler Schwein, Forensic Specialist at Pie who performed the monitoring. “As we see more and more development in high-density areas, we expect the market for this service to continue growing.”
