Wildfires Burning in Colorado

Pie’s own wildfire investigator Jeff Berino is in Florida investigating one of multiple fires burning in Central Florida.  Meanwhile, I woke up Sunday morning to what is being called the Indian Gulch Fire just a few miles from my condo in downtown Golden, Colorado.  The first image here, shot from the deck of my condo, was snapped soon after the fire reportedly started.  The rest are from later in the day when I rode my motorcycle and then my bike up Lookout Mountain.  Atop the mountain, I joined a gathering crowd, viewing the fire from what proved to be several great vantage points.

In fact, many of the fire fighters and equipment being staged to fight the fire can be seen in several of the photos.  Unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to be a busy wildfire season in many parts of the U.S. (see our post below).  Jeff Berino only recently returned from Texas, where he was investigating one of nearly two dozen wildfires burning there, also.
