An Empirical Review of Commercial Air Barrier Testing

Excerpt from article published in the Spring/Summer 2018 issue of the Journal of the National Institute of Building Sciences:

Pie Consulting and Engineering (PC&E) collaborated with the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, to develop an Air Barrier Testing Protocol for Commercial Buildings for the city’s Building Department.

This case study provides a four-year review of the city’s air barrier testing results since the inception of the program. The researchers compiled the test data, which included information on building sizes, air leakage rates and pass/fail rates.
