Biography

Francisco has more than 25 years of construction experience, including his upbringing on the construction site. His building science background spans more than 8 years as a RESNET Energy Rater and BPI Analyst, including work in building performance verification and testing on building enclosure and mechanical systems in 700+ buildings. He also has practical experience on insulation and air sealing detailing, including combustion appliance zone testing.

Francisco’s continued building science work has led him to certifications through the highest standard of building performance, the Passive House Institute-US, where he has collaborated on design and verified several Passive House projects. He has presented at events sponsored by ASTM International, Environmental Protection Agency, Energy Star, the Colorado Renewable Energy Society and Rocky Mountain Association of Energy Engineers. He has been published in the Journal of the National Institute of Building Science for an Empirical Review of Commercial Air Barrier Testing.
