Pie Consulting & Engineering is excited to announce its sixth annual Cherrity Pie Festival raised a record $36,000 for Anchor Center for Blind Children, a Denver-based nonprofit serving more than 400 children a year.
“We are overwhelmed with the community support for this year’s Cherrity Pie Festival,” said Paul Duncan, president of Pie, a global forensic and building sciences engineering firm. “We are humbled by the generosity of our sponsors and so many people to ensure Anchor Center can continue to provide vital programs and support to hundreds of Colorado families.”
The Cherrity Pie Festival, which began in 2011, is Pie’s hallmark community fundraiser and supports early intervention center-based programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. This year’s event drew more than 300 attendees – a 33% increase in attendance from last year.
“Pulling off one of our biggest events ever was only possible with the collective support of our corporate sponsors, volunteers and families who came out to support this worthy cause,” Duncan said. “We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on our community.”
This year’s festival featured fun family activities, including live music, a beer garden, face painting and, of course, a “pie” walk. A silent auction raised more than $9,000, and the event also featured drawings for an award-winning locally made quilt and an all-expenses paid trip to Panama.
Festival sponsors contributed $23,000 to this year’s fundraiser. Our 2016 corporate supporters included Ponderosa Petroleum, Rogue Architecture, J.R. Butler, Blu Sky, ASR Companies, Integrative Mastery Programs, Mortenson Construction, Lerch Bates, AAA Waterproofing, American Hydrotech, Benson Korrane Storz Nelson, Black Roofing, Burg Simpson, DRS Engineering Contractors, Emergenetics International, Fiore & Sons, Fransen Pittman, Gillians Land Consultants, GCP Applied Technologies, , Integrity Electrical Solutions, MAXX Properties, McWhinney Real Estate Services, Smalley & Company, T.A.M.P.A., Western Specialty Contractors, Saunders Construction, Wadell & Reed, Palace Construction, Samora, Wilkins Reinicke & Co., and Village Inn.
“Anchor Center is a magical place that provides early intervention and professional support and empowers kids to soar,” Duncan added. “We look forward to continue to expand this event and strengthen the awareness of its important work.”
